Two Arrested in Mason District
Officers from the Mason Police District charged two men with larceny on Wednesday, February 25.
Midnight officers responded to a call for service of a resident in the 7600 block of Camp Alger Avenue from a man who saw people rummaging through his van at around 2:54 a.m.
Officers approached the men, questioned them and linked them to at least 10 vehicle larceny cases in the area. Numerous items were stolen, ranging from a laptop computer to loose change, knives, cigarettes and Chuck-E-Cheese game tokens.
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are looking into the possibility that the suspects are connected to dozens of recent similar break-ins in the Westlawn area.
Christopher Hemmelgrain, 31 and Michael Puckett, 25, both of no fixed addressed, were arrested.
Property Crime Detectives are investigating and sorting through property, which will be returned to owners, if possible.
Crime Prevention Officers urge residents to keep vehicle doors locked and without any visible valuables. Don’t be a target.
Thanks to neighbors for helping keep your eyes and ears open and for reporting suspicious activity.
