The Police Daily Blotter for March 23, 2015

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT 

CHECKPOINT, Arlington Boulevard/Patrick Henry Drive, 03/21/15. Officers conducted a DWI checkpoint for drunk drivers. Four-hundred-twenty-two vehicles passed through. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Eleven summonses were issued and two criminal arrests were made.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 5900 block of Mount Eagle Drive, 3/21/15, 11:25 p.m. The victim was walking on a path when three men approached him. The suspects displayed knives and took property from the victim. There were no injuries. The suspects were described as either white or Hispanic males.

ROBBERY, 5800 block of North Kings Highway, 3/22/15, 4:20 a.m. A man entered a convenience store and displayed a knife to an employee. The suspect took property and fled. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as about 6 feet tall with a thin build and of unknown race.

BURGLARY, 7000 block of Vanderbilt Drive, 03/20/15. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

BURGLARY, 2200 block of Windsor Road, 03/20/15. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 3400 block of South Jefferson Street, 3/21/15, 4:03 a.m. Two men entered a store and one displayed a knife to an employee. The suspects took property and fled. There were no injuries. The first suspect was described as black, 40-50, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall. The second suspect was described as black with a heavy build.

PURSUIT/DWI, 6100 block of Leesburg Pike, 3/22/15, 1:52 a.m. A police officer attempted to stop a driver of a vehicle for suspected driving while intoxicated. The driver attempted to elude the officer and struck several parked vehicles. The driver then attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody. A 14-year-old juvenile male was charged with DWI, speed to elude, no driver’s license and seven counts of hit and run.

BURGLARY, 6200 block of Cheryl Drive, 03/20/15. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 5900 block of Kingstowne Towne Center, 03/19/15, 9:24 p.m. A woman was walking in a parking lot when a man exposed himself. The only suspect description was a black male.

LARCENIES:

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

MALTREAT ANIMAL, 6800 block of Alpine Drive, 03/19/15. Animal Control Officers responded to a parking lot for a dog left in a trunk of a vehicle. The owner, Kathryn McCracken, 28, of Annandale, was charged with inadequate animal care. The dog appeared to be upharmed.
