Manassas Men Apprehended in Area Home Burglaries

Two men were apprehended this afternoon after allegedly committing burglaries in homes in the Sully Police District. So far, detectives have linked the suspects to a burglary this morning, another attempted burglary also this morning, two additional burglaries in the Sully District in recent weeks, along with two others in the Fair Oaks Police District. Police will obtain warrants this evening. Detectives are looking into the possibility that the men may be responsible for additional burglaries in recent weeks.

Both men are in their 20’s from the Manassas area and were tracked as a result of helpful residents who called police with tips of suspicious people in the Chantilly area this morning.

Originally, police responded to a report of a burglary this morning at around 10:00 a.m. in the 15000 block of Oakmere Place. Residents of the home heard a loud crash in their basement area, ran outside, then back in the house and saw two people running away from the home. They discovered their basement door had been kicked in.

Police assets, including K9, patrol, and Fairfax1 responded to the area.

Shortly afterwards, police were called for another attempted burglary nearby, in the 4400 block of Cub Run Road. The homeowners had arrived home and interrupted the suspects who were attempting to get inside their home.

The suspects fled in a vehicle but officers were already in the vicinity, quickly responded, found the men at the intersection of Braddock Road and Pleasant Valley Road. The men were apprehended and taken to the Sully District Police Station for questioning.
