Medical Emergency at Pirate’s Cove Waterpark

Police are investigating a medical emergency that occurred in the pool at Pirate’s Cove Waterpark, at Pohick Bay in Lorton. The incident took place at around 5 p.m. Sunday, June 14.

The pool was being cleared due to lightening in the area when a 2-year-old boy was found unresponsive at the bottom of the pool.

Officers assigned to the Marine Patrol Unit were summoned to the pool and immediately began chest compressions. Fire & Rescue personnel quickly arrived and continued CPR.

The child is in life-threatening condition at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident.
