Robbery / Shooting in Fairfax Area

Detectives are investigating a robbery and shooting that occurred in the 5000 block of Kenerson Drive on Saturday, July 11 at around 11:50 p.m. Initial reports indicated that a man and woman had arrived to their home after an evening at a casino. As the woman approached the front door she was grabbed and her purse was taken. The suspect was only described as a black female. Due to the commotion, other family members came rushing out from the house and began to chase the suspect.

The suspect ran to a nearby vehicle, driven by a second suspect described as a black male. The victim was able to run up to the vehicle as it was pulling away. One of the suspects, in the vehicle, fired one round from a gun striking the female victim in the arm. The vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction. The 66 year-old victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
