Officers Investigate Theft in Springfield Town Center

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER/BURGLARY/ATTEMPTED BURGLARY/DISORDERLY CONDUCT/RESISTING ARREST/ARREST: Braddock Road/Olley Lane, 05/27/16, around 7:10 a.m. Police responded to numerous reports of a man moving in and out of traffic lanes and shouting at passing cars. As an officer arrived and started to investigate, the man allegedly advanced toward him. The officer utilized his Conductive Energy Weapon; however, the suspect fled from the officer. An extensive search began to locate him. An investigation determined the suspect attempted to enter a nearby home but was unable to. He entered another home through an unlocked door; the resident confronted him and brief struggle ensued. The suspect fled the home and encountered officers, who immediately attempted to take him into custody. The suspect allegedly resisted and after a brief struggle, officers gained control of him. Adrian Wright, 19, of Springfield, was taken to jail and charged with attempted burglary, burglary, assault on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The burglary victim, who struggled with the suspect, did not require medical attention. The suspect was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated and treated for minor injuries. UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 4400 block of Oakdale Crescent Court, 05/26/16, 12:30 p.m. Management reported that a man entered the apartment through a window. Police responded and an investigation determined the man did not have permission to be there. Kevin Willams Ging, 31, of Fairfax was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with unlawful entry.
