Update: Warrants Served on Silver Diner Driver
On Tuesday, May 31, Samuel Ovie Abutoh, 59, of Springfield, was transported from the District of Columbia to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Detectives from the Major Crimes Division served arrest warrants for Second Degree Murder, Felony Destruction of Property, Arson: Burning or Destroying an Occupied Public Building, and Arson: Burning or Destroying Personal Property on Abutoh.
Warrants were initially obtained for malicious wounding. This charge was revised to second degree murder following the passing of Andrew Sheren who was struck by the SUV driven by Abutoh, while walking into the Silver Diner.
