Wildlife; Please Look But Don’t Touch

Join the Mclean Citizens Association, Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust, Fairfax County Police, and the Fire Department for a Senior Safety Program on Wednesday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the McLean Community Center located at 1234 Ingleside Ave. in McLean, Community Rooms B and C. All residents of the McLean-area welcome to attend. Admission is free.

Join Us For A Glimpse Behind the Badge – Would you like to learn more about the Fairfax County Police Department and meet the men and women who serve? Join us as we host a three-hour forum on Saturday, June 18, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the Kings Park Library, located at 9000 Burke Lake Road in Burke, Virginia.

Attendees will be presented with an overview of the Fairfax County Police Department and will have the opportunity to gain insight into police policies and procedures. Other topics that will be covered are use of force, what to expect during traffic stops, and the everyday challenges that officers face.

There will also be an opportunity to learn more about FCPD’s full, ten-week Citizens Police Academy, summer programs for high school students, and how to participate in station level Citizen Advisory Committees. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: 11800 block of Coopers Court, 06/09/16, 4:03 p.m. A resident reported that a man entered the home and rummaged through her purse then fled without taking any property. The police responded and the suspect was not located. He was described as black, 18 to 20 years old, 6 feet tall with a slim build, wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers.
