Update; Fatal Pedestrian Crash Involving Police Cruiser

Sobriety Checkpoint: 06/17/16, Old Keene Mill Road/Rolling Road, 11 p.m. – 1 a.m. 765 vehicles were screened with 0 DWI’s and two other traffic summonses.
Directed Patrol: 06/17/16 – 06/18/16. Officers from several police districts participated in grant funded DWI directed patrol and stopped 89 vehicles, charged three people with DWI, issued 49 traffic summonses, and placed four criminal charges.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 13800 Lee Highway (AMF), 06/18/16, 5:18 a.m. Officers responded to a burglary alarm and found an unsecured door. Further investigation revealed that property had been taken from the business.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY/ASSAULT/ARREST: 14400 block of Saguaro Place, 06/18/16, 5:31 p.m. Officers responded for a report of a man who had entered the victim’s residence, assaulted her, and would not leave. The victim did not know the man. Tomas Ramirez Marcos, 37, of no fixed address was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with assault and battery and unlawful entry.

STOLEN VEHICLES:
13700 block of Winding Oak Circle, 2007 Ford Econoline
TRAFFIC PURSUIT/NARCOTICS/ARREST: Pole Road/Keeler Street, 06/17/16, 7:17 p.m. Officers from the Neighborhood Patrol Unit observed a man who they knew to be a suspended driver, operating a vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver failed to stop and fled. The driver struck a parked vehicle and fled on foot, with officers in pursuit. The suspect then broke into a residence and allegedly attempted to destroy narcotics. Officers arrested Torrance Hill, 33, of Lorton and transported him to the adult detention center, where he was charged with speeding to elude, burglary, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

ROBBERY: 4900 block of Beauregard Street, 06/18/16, 12:12 a.m. The victim reported he was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by a man who displayed a handgun, demanded property, and then fled on foot. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as black, approximately 20 years old, 150 pounds, wearing a black baseball hat, black shirt, and black pants.
