MALICIOUS WOUNDING: 2900 block of Arlington Drive, 07/12/16, 12:04 a.m. A man was sitting outside a business when another man began assaulting him. The suspect fled the scene, but officers apprehended him a short time later. Nigel Clay, 24, of Alexandria was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with Malicious Wounding. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and transported to a local hospital.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT/ARREST: 6400 block of Edsall Road, 07/12/16, 8:25 p.m. Officers responded to a report of an assault that had just occurred and the suspect had fled the scene. The officers located the suspect at his residence where they attempted to arrest him and he allegedly began to assault the officers. Hermes Alexander Rubio Orellana, 26, of Alexandria, was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with one count of assault on family member, and two counts of assault on law enforcement. One officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
BURGLARY: 7200 block of Commerce Street, 07/12/16, 11:06 a.m. An employee reported that someone unlawfully entered the business and took property.
