Officers from the Fair Oaks Police District conducted a DWI checkpoint on Friday, August 26. 436 vehicles passed through and were screened. One arrest was made for DWI, one criminal charge was placed, and one summons was issued.
Officers from the Operations Support Bureau conducted grant-funded DWI patrols on Saturday, August 27. Three arrest were made for DWI and 13 summonses were issued.

PEEPING: 14500 block of Golden Oak Road. 8/28/16, 9:15 p.m. A resident was in the process of closing curtains on a sliding glass door when they saw a man touching the outside of the window and looking into the home. The victim screamed and the subject fled. The only description of the suspect was that he was wearing dark clothing.
ROBBERY: 3100 Lockheed Blvd (7-11), 08/27/16, 9:55 p.m. Police responded for a report of a man who approached someone standing at a convenience store, assaulted the man, and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described as Hispanic, approximately 25-26 years old, about 6 feet tall, heavy-set, wearing a white shirt and green cargo-style pants.
BURLGARY: 3100 block of Madison Hill Court, 08/27/16, 5:20 p.m. A resident reported someone entered their garage and took property.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 5700 block of Columbia Pike, 08/28/16, 4:15 p.m. A man entered a business, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash. The employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled on foot. A citizen ran after the suspect and held him until police arrived. Ricardo Guido Quijada, 32, of no fixed address was arrested, transported to the adult detention center, and charged with robbery and two counts of petit larceny.

BURGLARY: 7400 block of Camp Alger Avenue, 08/28/16, 7:44 p.m. A resident reported someone forced entry into their home and took jewelry, documents, and other property.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
UNLAWFUL ENTRY/LARCENY/DRUNK IN PUBLIC/ARREST: 5500 block of Point Long Street Way, 08/26/16, 12:58 p.m. Police responded to the report of a suspicious man attempting to take property from someone’s garage. When officers located the suspect, he fled, and a short foot pursuit ensued. Brian Brown, 32, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, was arrested, transported to a local hospital for minor injuries unrelated to the arrest, then taken to the adult detention center where he was charged with burglary, felony petit larceny (3rd offense), and drunk in public.
