Officers from the Operations Support Bureau conducted grant-funded DWI patrols on Tuesday, August 31. Two arrests were made for DWI and 12 summonses were issued. There were also three criminal drug possession charges.

TRAFFIC PURSUIT / DWI: Arlington Blvd / Gallows Rd, 08/31/16, 1:58 a.m. A police officer on patrol observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction. The officer attempted a traffic stop but the suspect failed to stop. The vehicle was traveling at a low speed and was boxed in by officers. The driver, Nicolas Rivas Umana, 44, of Falls Church was arrested and charged with DWI, open container, disregard police signal to stop, and fail to maintain proper control of a vehicle. The passengers, Marcos Morano Murillo, 32, of Fairfax, and Oscar Santos, 27, of Falls Church, were arrested and charged with drunk in public and open container.
