GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Virginia Department of Transportation will be milling and paving on Guinea Road, reducing it to one lane, alternating, between Braddock Road and Route 236 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the next few weeks. Stay alert and follow officer’s direction. They will be in the work zone for safety.
We would love for you to come out and run, walk, volunteer, or simply spend the morning with us, this Saturday, September 10, at 8:30 a.m. for a 5K run, benefiting the Travis Manion Foundation and 9/11 heroes, at Carl Sandburg Middle School in Alexandria, Virginia. There will be plenty of displays from police, fire, military, and other community sponsors.

Our Motor Carrier Safety Unit conducted truck inspections this morning on Braddock Road and Route 123, near George Mason University. The efforts resulted in 20 trucks inspected with 9 trucks being taken out of service. There were a total of 71 safety violations and 8 summonses issued. We work hard to keep your roads safe.

ASSAULT: 6200 Little River Turnpike, 09/08/16, 6:16 a.m. A woman was walking on a sidewalk when a man passed by and allegedly grabbed her from behind. The suspect pushed her to the ground and then fled on foot. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect was described as black, approximately 20 to 24 years old, about 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with dark, short curly hair, and was wearing a flowered button-down shirt, black shorts, and black shoes. Investigation is ongoing.
