Police Explorer (Youth) Program: Seeking New Recruits, Registration Only Happens Once a Year: Three informational meetings to be held at 7 p.m. on the following upcoming Mondays:

Mount Vernon District Station is hosting a Neighborhood Watch Training this evening, September 20, at 7:00 p.m. Come learn safety tips, how to coordinate a watch program in your neighborhood, and more. This training session can hold up to 40 people and is for

Virginia Department of Transportation will be milling and paving on Guinea Road, reducing it to one lane, alternating between Braddock Road and Route 236 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the next few weeks. Stay alert and follow officers’ direction. They will be in the work zone for safety.

ANIMAL BITE: Montauk Ct/New Providence Dr. Falls Church. 9/18/16, 7:25 p.m. A 52-year-old man reported that he was at water’s edge when a Beaver came out of the water and bit his shoe. In an attempt to get the Beaver to release his bite, the man punched the Beaver in the head several times and then fell backward. The Beaver’s bite did not break the skin but the man sustained a cut to the hand he hit the Beaver with. The Beaver was not caught and therefore has not been tested for the Rabies Virus. The man will undergo treatment for the Rabies Virus as a precaution.
