Fall Driving: Be Alert for Deer
Police Explorer (Youth) Program: Seeking New Recruits, Registration Only Happens Once a Year
Two informational sessions, called a “First Nighter,” were held on Monday, September 19 and Monday, September 26. Nearly two dozen potential candidates attended the first meeting; a total of 26 were in attendance on Monday.
A third, and final, session will be held this Monday, October 3, at 7 p.m. at West Potomac High School located at 6500 Quander Road, in Alexandria.
We’ve had a great turnout so far and look forward to meeting another engaging and interested group of our community’s youth and share details on joining the Police Explorer program!

Mason Police District – Officers from around the county will conduct directed patrols; specifically looking for impaired drivers, on Saturday, October 1, from 11:30 p.m. until 2:30 the next morning. Please don’t drink and drive.

DISORDERLY: 6300 block of Richmond Highway, 9/29/2016, 9:08 a.m. Officers responded for a report of disorderly male. Further investigation revealed that he had outstanding warrants and had provided false identification. Officers attempted to arrest Dominic Carter, 24, of Fairfax but he resisted and a brief struggle ensued. Pepper spray and an Electronic Control Weapon (ECW) were utilized. Carter was charged with providing a false identity to a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and the outstanding warrants were served as well.

INDECENT EXPOSURE: 2200 block of Castle Rock Square, 9/29/2016, 2:08 a.m. Officers responded for report of a man screaming in the woods behind an apartment complex. Howard Robinson, 41, of Reston, was located and was seen touching himself inappropriately. Robinson was placed under arrest for indecent exposure, drunk in public, and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

ROBBERY: 7100 block of Silver Lake Boulevard: 9/29/2016, 11:32 p.m. The victim was exiting an apartment complex and was approached by two black males and one black female. The suspects grabbed and assaulted the victim, took property, and fled the area in a black sedan. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The female suspect was described as black, about 18 to 25 years of age, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, and wearing a green jacket and blue jeans. The other two male suspects were described as black, about 20 to 25 years of age, long dreads, and wearing black jackets.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
No significant events.
CREDIT CARD FRAUD: 13065 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, 9/29/2016, 3:58 p.m. Officers were notified by Loss Prevention of two individuals attempting to use multiple credit cards within the business. The individuals were located in the parking lot trying to leave in a vehicle. Aryeh Odoi, 61, of Alexandria was arrested and charged with six counts of credit card fraud.

ANIMAL WELFARE: 5600 block of Eastbourne Drive, 9/29/2016, 8:48 p.m. Officers responded to a report of an unlawful entry. The house was checked and nothing suspicious was found. The residence appeared to be a hoarding situation. Animal Protection Police were called to the home where two dogs and a cat were seized for their welfare. Other resources have also been notified. No charges have been placed at this time.
