Fall Driving: Be Alert for Deer
Motor Carrier Safety will be conducting truck inspections in the Franconia Police District on Thursday, October 6. Commercial motor vehicle inspections enhance safety on the county’s roadways.
Pence Gate in Mount Vernon/Route 1 area will be closed for construction for about six weeks. Expect major traffic delays. Build time into your schedule and find alternate routes, if possible.

Police Explorer (Youth) Program: Seeking New Recruits, Registration Only Happens Once a Year
Three informational sessions, called a “First Nighter,” were held on Monday, September 19, September 26 and October 3. For all three Explorer Post First Nighters (1742, 505 and 2252), a total of 107 interested candidates attended. What a fantastic turnout. We look forward to welcoming a new group of Police Explorers this year!

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 11900 block of Artery Drive, 10/3/16 around 6:28 a.m. An investigation determined a 33-year-old man heard someone open a door at his home. He went to inspect and saw a man standing in the foyer. The victim confronted the suspect and the suspect left the home. The victim was not injured.
