Motor Carrier Safety will be conducting truck inspections in the Franconia Police District on Thursday, October 6. Commercial motor vehicle inspections enhance safety on the county’s roadways.
Pence Gate in Mount Vernon/Route 1 area will be closed for construction for about six weeks. Expect major traffic delays. Build time into your schedule and find alternate routes, if possible.

STOLEN AUTO W/APPREHENSION: 7700 block of Lafayette Forest Drive, 10/4/16, 9:03 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a stolen car. The victim reported that he had last seen his car around 6 a.m. and when he went to drive it around 5 p.m., it was missing. While the officer was taking the report, patrol officers in the area located a car that matched the description. The suspects were located and taken into custody and transported to the adult detention center. Alexander Ghirmay, 21, of Annandale was charged with grand larceny (auto theft) and Tony Le Weber, 21, of Springfield was charged with possession of stolen property.
