Media Advisory: Encouraging Teens to Take the Pledge #PhonesDownTouchDown
WEAPONS OFFENSE: Insignia Court / Uniform Drive, 02/13/17, around 5 p.m. Officers responded to the area for a report of a teenager brandishing a weapon. An officer observed a young man at Centre Ridge Elementary School with a machete. The 15-year-old male was taken into custody and charges are pending for possession of a weapon on school property. There were no injuries.

BURGLARY: 5900 block of Founders Hill Court, 2/13/17, around 5:10 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a burglary. The homeowner reported that someone came in through a window and took property.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
ROBBERY/MALICIOUS WOUNDING: Curving Creek Court/Newington Forest Avenue, 2/13/17, around 4:45 p.m. A 16-year-old male met with two other male teens to buy some shoes. The suspects displayed a knife, took an undisclosed amount of cash and stabbed the victim in the shoulder. They ran off in an unknown direction. They were described as black and wearing all dark clothing. The victim was treated for minor injuries.
