NARCOTICS/WEAPONS VIOLATION/ARREST: 8200 block of Richmond Highway, 6/29/17, around 6:30 p.m. Officers saw a car illegally parked. They contacted the driver and smelled an odor of marijuana. An investigation determined the suspect was in possession of individually packaged drugs and a firearm. Dion Washington, 33, of Alexandria, was arrested, taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of a concealed weapon.

NARCOTICS VIOLATION/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT/ARREST: 8000 block of Janna Lee Avenue, 6/29/17, around 7 p.m. An officer stopped a car for a traffic violation. The driver immediately exited his car and became disorderly toward the officer. An investigation determined there was marijuana inside the car in plain view. As officers attempted to further their investigation, the suspect took a fighting stance and assaulted one of the officers. Chauvez Diggins, 23, of Alexandria was arrested, taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with assault on law enforcement, disorderly conduct, driving on a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
