BURGLARY: Staff left the building in the 6500 block of Richmond Highway around 11:00 Sunday night, and ensured that all the doors were locked. Around 1:00 Monday morning, an alarm call was made and officers responded. It was found that someone had made entry into the building and broke out an interior window. No items were reported to be missing.

TRAFFIC PURSUIT WITH APPREHENSION: Last night around 10:30, an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a dirt bike for speeding and other violations near Essex Avenue and Hanover Avenue. The rider disregarded the officer’s attempt to stop and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued through a county park footpath until the officer lost sight of the suspect. Another officer encountered the bike and continued the pursuit until eventually the suspect left the bike and ran away. An investigation by the officers lead to the arrest of 18 year old Jacob Wheeler of Falls Church. Wheeler has been charged with felony speed to elude, and reckless driving.

Two sobriety check points will be conducted this week. The first will be in the Mason District on Thursday, and the second in Reston District on Saturday. Both check points will run from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m.
