ARMED ROBBERY: 8100 block of Frye Road, 9/26/17 around 10:00 p.m. A man was walking on Frye Road when he was approached by a stranger asking for a cigarette. The stranger showed him a black handgun and asked for his wallet and backpack After the victim gave the stranger his wallet and backpack the suspect ran away. The victim called the police and then chased the suspect asking for his wallet back. The suspect was last seen on Eubank Street. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’10 ft, average build, facial hair around the chin area, close cropped hair, wearing a black jacket with a hood and a small logo on the left shoulder area, black pants and black shoes.The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY: Arlington Boulevard and Prosperity Avenue, 9/26/17 around 8:00 p.m. A woman was waiting at a bus stop when she was approached by two men. One of the men asked for her purse and took an undisclosed amount of cash. Both men walked away and were seen going towards the City of Fairfax. One of the men is described as a white male, wearing a white tank top, black pants, short dark hair, no facial hair and a tattoo on his upper left arm. The investigation is ongoing.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
TRESPASSING/DAMAGE TO PRIVATE PROPERTY/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER/ARREST: 5100 block of Southampton Drive, 9/26/17 around 8:30 p.m. A man was found to be trespassing at a community pool. When an officer tried to speak with him, he assaulted the officer and attempted to grab his belongings and run away. A struggle ensued between the officer and the man. During the struggle, the man attempted to take the officers’ gun from her holster. The man was arrested and received minor injuries and was taken the local hospital for treatment. The officer was not injured. Mitchel William Kern, 19 year-old of Annandale, Virginia was charged with trespassing with intent to damage property, assault on a law enforcement officer and attempt to disarm a law enforcement officer.
