HIT-AND-RUN/DUI/ARREST: Route 50 near Stringfellow Road, 11/25/17 around 2:44 a.m. An officer was at a red light when another driver side-swiped his cruiser and continued down the road. The officer activated his lights and the vehicle came to a stop a short distance later after running a red light. Ramiro Costas, 47, of Nokesville, was arrested and charged with DWI. The officer was not injured in the accident.

GRAND LARCENY/ARREST: 7910 Richmond Highway (Walmart), 11/23/17 around 7:50 p.m. Two juvenile boys led officers on a foot chase after stealing nearly $300 in merchandise from the store. Both boys were caught, and officers will be seeking to charge them with larceny.
BURGLARY: 2400 block of Fairhaven Avenue, 11/25/17 around 10:45 a.m. Someone entered the residence. Nothing was taken.
BURGLARY/ DESTRUCTION: 5700 block of Biscayne Drive, 11/25/17 around 1:50 p.m. Someone broke the front door and entered the residence. Nothing was taken from the residence. The case is ongoing.
ROBBERY: 3800 block of Laramie Place, 11/25/17 around 6:15 p.m. A man was approached by someone who displayed a weapon and ran off with his phone, wallet and keys. The suspect was described as a black man between 18 and 25, around 6 feet tall, and 170 pounds. The victim did not require medical attention.

ROBBERY/ARREST: 5600 block of Seminary Road, 11/24/17 around 1:30 p.m. A man was robbed in a staircase while waiting to conduct a drug-related transaction. John Brown, 19, of Falls Church was arrested and charged with robbery. The search for the other suspect continues.

RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: 7137 Little River Turnpike (Tandoori Nights), 11/23/17 around 12 a.m. A dispute over a tab became physical and someone fired a “warning shot” in the parking lot to scare the group away. No one wanted to file charges for assault, but charges for reckless discharge of a firearm are pending.

Moore
BURGLARY OF AN OCCUPIED DWELLING/ARREST: 8000 block of Samuel Wallis Street, 11/24/17 around 12:40 a.m. A man broke into an occupied home. The resident was not injured and provided a description. Officers located the suspect nearby and arrested him. Treveric Moore, 22, of Lorton, was charged with unlawful entry and trespassing.
Assault / Larceny / Resisting Arrest / Possession of Stolen Property: 6500 Springfield Mall (JC Penney), 11/25/17 around 3:00 p.m. Loss Prevention officers observed two women stealing items inside the business. They contacted police and officers were able to locate the women getting ready to leave the area in their vehicle. During the course of their investigation one of the suspects ran away from the officers. Officers were able to catch her and she resisted arrested. While officers were placing the suspect into handcuffs the other suspect assaulted an officer. Eventually both women were handcuffed and arrested. Officers were also able to find evidence related to the several different larcenies that took place in the mall. Keymonie Birden, 22, and Bria Lyles, 23, both of Maryland, were arrested. Birden was charged with 3 counts of possession of stolen property with intent to sell, 3 counts of grand larceny, possession of marijuana, possession of burglarious tools, and resisting arrest. Lyles was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, 3 counts of possession of stolen property with intent to sell, 3 counts of grand larceny, possession of marijuana, and possession of burglarious tools.
