COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 7968 Fort Hunt Road (Rite Aid), 12/5/17 around 10:30 a.m. Two people entered the store, confronted employees and demanded their personal items. The victims did not hand anything over so the suspects stole merchandise and left the store. No one was injured. Detectives are investigating.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 7700 block of Richmond Highway, 12/5/17 around 7:40 p.m. A man attempted to snatch a cell phone from someone’s hand. He was unsuccessful and a struggle ensued over the phone. The suspect attempted to strike the victim, but was unsuccessful in those attempts as well. He ran from the scene without taking anything. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old, around 5’9”. The investigation is ongoing.

HIT-AND-RUN/TRAFFIC PURSUIT/ARREST: Gallows Road near Annandale Road, 12/5/17 around 5:40 p.m. A driver left the scene of a two-vehicle crash. A look-out was broadcast and an officer saw a car matching the description nearby. The officer activated his lights and the vehicle eventually stopped, but then drove off again as the officer was walking up to speak with the driver. Officers pursued the vehicle and brought it to a stop a second time. The driver, 44-year-old Jackie White II, of Fairfax Station, was arrested and taken to the adult detention center where he was charged with several offenses to include DWI, hit-and-run, and disregarding police signal to stop.

GRAND LARCENY/NARCOTICS VIOLATION/ARREST: 6500 block of Springfield Mall, 12/5/17 around 8 p.m. Officers from our Christmas Anti-Theft Team (CATT) were patrolling inside the mall when they observed people concealing merchandise. Jacqueline Geter, 53, of Washington, D.C., was charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen property with intent to sell, and drug possession. Samantha Payne, 50, of Washington, D.C. was arrested and charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen property with intent to sell, possession of burglary tools, drug possession, and resisting arrest.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 7315 Little River Turnpike (Nak Won Restaurant), between 10 p.m. on 12/4/17 and 8 a.m. 12/5/17. Someone vandalized the exterior of the building.
