ARMED ROBBERY: 7200 block of Harrison Lane, 12/28/17 around 1:20 p.m. A man was robbed while attempting to sell a cellphone and its accessories to someone who responded to an ad he placed online. The suspect asked to see the phone, then displayed a gun. The suspect took off with the phone. The victim was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY: 6400 block Oakwood Drive, 12/28/17 between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. A home was broken into and a number of items were reported stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 6600 block of Desiree Court between 12/21/17 and 12/28/17. A home was broken into and items were taken. Detectives are investigating.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 7800 block of Heritage Drive, 12/28/17 around 7:39 p.m. A man was walking when a teenager approached him, said something, then punched him. A struggle ensued and two or three other teens arrived and started hitting the man. They took money from him and ran away. The victim had minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY/ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING/ARREST: 7900 block of Heritage Drive, 12/28/17 around 5:50 p.m. A man was approached by someone who demanded his money and wallet. The victim refused to hand anything over and the suspect began swinging a weapon, described as a machete. The victim was not injured and provided a description of the suspect to officers. The suspect was located nearby and arrested. Enoc Herrera-Chan, 25, of Centreville, was charged with attempted robbery, attempted malicious wounding, and being drunk in public.
