When the first officer arrived, he saw two men carrying out a person who appeared to be unconscious, and a woman following behind them. The officer requested all to reenter the business so rescue could be called for the unconscious man. The man began to wake up and was seated at a table. He began to cause a disturbance by crying loudly and trashing around on the floor. As the officer turned to look at him, another man in the group reached out at the officer and attempted to choke him. As the officer fought to get the man off of him, the other man who was causing a disturbance on the floor jumped on him from behind. All three parties went to the floor. Several patrons assisted the officer by getting the man off his back. The officer handcuffed 61-year-old John Robertson, who initially assaulted him, and then with the assistance of patrons, was able to arrest 31-year-old Scott Robertson, the man who jumped on him from behind. Both suspects were assessed by rescue and neither required medical attention. They were each charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and being drunk in public.
