FCPD WEEKEND RECAP FOR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12
BURGLARY: 5600 block of Willoughby Newton Drive, 2/9/18 between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Someone broke into the residence and stole cash and property.

ARSON/TRESPASSING/ARREST: 2511 Parkers Lane (Mount Vernon District Station), 2/9/18, around 12:13 p.m. As an officer was driving towards the Mount Vernon Station, he noticed a man trespassing in the area of the gas pumps. The officer saw a small fire in the grass, a gas pump off the storage hook and a bottle with paper sticking out that appeared to be burned. The officer placed Michael Johnson, 31, no fixed address, under arrest for creating an explosive device, trespassing, maliciously setting fire to the ground, carelessly damaging property by fire and a fire code violation. Johnson was held without bond.

ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: 1692 Richmond Highway (Ruby Tuesday’s), 2/9/10, 11:43 p.m. An officer responded to the location for a drunk woman who was trying to drive away. Officers arrived, located the intoxicated woman and placed her under arrest for drunk in public. While at the Adult Detention Center, the woman kicked the arresting officer three separate times. Robin Fletcher, 56, of Alexandria, was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and drunk in public.

BURGLARY: 7702-F Richmond Highway (AT&T) 2/10/18 12:56 a.m. A man broke into the business and stole merchandise. The suspect was wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt, a black mask, black sweatpants, light colored tennis shoes, and a black backpack.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 6511 Braddock Road (Mama’s Laundromat), 2/9/18, around 3 a.m. A man broke into the business, stole the cash register and ran away.
SHOOTING INTO OCCUPIED DEWELLING: 3400 Block of South Jefferson Street, 02/11/18 at 4 p.m. The victim heard a rattling sound coming from her living room. She found nothing suspicious and went back to bed. The next morning, the victim saw a hole in her window and noticed damage to other property inside. Officers responded and collected the spent round. The investigation continues.
GRAND LARCENY/ARREST: 6210 Seven Corners Center (Home Depot), 02/11/18, 12:30 p.m. Officers responded to the Home Depot for a report of a larceny in progress. When officers arrived on the scene the suspect had already left. Responding officers saw the suspect getting on a bus and placed him under arrest. Eric Patterson, 19, of Washington D.C., was charged with grand larceny, possession of burglarious tools, giving false identification to law enforcement and an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY:11501 Leesburg Pike (7-Eleven), 02/11/18, at 10:57 p.m. The suspect entered the business wearing all dark clothing, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. Cash and cigarettes were stolen. The clerk was not injured. The investigation continues.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/DRUNK IN PUBLIC: 7010 Old Keene Mill Road (Homewood Suites), 2/9/18, 7:27 a.m. A woman walked into a guest’s room as they were leaving. The hotel called the us and we found a woman intoxicated in the bed. She believed she was staying in the hotel, however the hotel could not find any information showing that to be true. Cassidy Coven, 31, of Arlington was arrested for drunk in public and destruction of property.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 7800 Block of South Valley Drive, 02/11/18, around 4:50 pm. The victim discovered swastikas spray painted on his mail box. The investigation continues.

ROBBERY: 2990 Centreville Road (Exxon), 2/10/18 around 1:55 a.m. A man entered the store, displayed a gun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and ran away. The suspect is described as either a white man or a light-skinned black man, 25 years old, about 6’ tall, wearing a black coat with a hood. No injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
