Detectives Asking for Public’s Help in Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect

Mason District Station – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are investigating an attempted commercial robbery at Capital One Bank, located at 3499 South Jefferson Street. Just before 2 yesterday afternoon, a man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller announcing a robbery and implied he had a weapon. The man became anxious and left the building before obtaining any money. No one was injured. Our officers arrived on scene within minutes of the call and searched the area along with K9 and Fairfax 1. The suspect is described as a black man, in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black head covering, a black and orange floral pattern skirt, a green jacket and gloves.
