ROBBERY / MALICIOUS WOUNDING: 3500 block of Leesburg Court, 3/22/18, 2 p.m. The victim attempted to ask a man to leave the area due to the fact he was panhandling. The man punched the victim after the victim refused to give the man money. The victim’s cell phone was taken by the man. Responding officers located the man in the area and arrested him. Tysheem Boykins, 18, of District Heights was charged with robbery and malicious wounding.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: Elm Tree Drive / Sycamore View Lane, 3/22/18, 4:15 p.m. A man appeared to be intoxicated. An officer responding to the call attempted to speak with him. As the officer spoke with the man, the officer noticed a firearm inside the man’s jacket. The man approached the officer, refusing the officer’s verbal commands. He hit the officer with his fist and spit at him. Carlos Cherry, 37, was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, brandishing a firearm, and drunk in public.
