ROBBERY: 5922 Richmond Highway, 3/23/18, 12:28 p.m. A man entered the SunTrust bank, displayed a note to the teller, implied he had a gun and demanded money. The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bank. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as a white male, 40-50 years old, wearing a black stocking hat, a tan jacket, and a blue shirt with a striped tie. He also had a band-aid on the right side of his face.


ROBBERY: Arlington Drive & Vernon Square Drive, 3/25/18, 11:55 a.m. A boy reported being approached by two men in ski masks while walking in the neighborhood. One of the men tackled the boy and then stole his phone.

BURGLARY: 2000 block of Grace Manor Court, 3/24/18, 7:45 p.m. A resident came home to find damage to her front door. Personal items were missing.

BURGALRY: 12000 block of Laurel Glade Court, 3/23/18, 12:00 p.m. A resident returned home to find a window broken and items missing from inside.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT/ OBSTRUCTION: 7500 block of Shirley Hunter Way, 3/24/18, 2:33 p.m. Officers responded to look for a girl who was reported missing earlier in the day. Residents of the home denied the girl was inside. When officers discovered she was inside, a boy pushed an officer in an attempt to stop them. 40-year-old Blanca Reyes Rubio of Springfield was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and obstruction of justice. The boy was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with assault on law enforcement and obstruction of justice.
ROBBERY:5500 block of Cherokee Avenue, 3/24/18, 3:25 p.m. A citizen called police and reported that a man stole his car at gunpoint. Fairfax 1 responded to the area and located the car heading into Prince George’s County. Fairfax 1 alerted Prince George’s County Police and they pursued the car. During the pursuit, officers lost sight of the car but Fairfax 1 was still following it. The suspect ended up crashing and ran away. Fairfax 1 gave commands from their loud speaker and the suspect gave up. Fairfax 1 landed and officers placed the suspect under arrest. 21-year-old Nathan Stewart Brown of Maryland was charged with carjacking. Brown is currently being held in Prince George’s County awaiting extradition.
BURGLARY: 5000 block of Avalon Place, 3/24/18, 9:30 p.m. A resident returned home to find damage to his front door. No property was taken.
HIT AND RUN/ PURSUIT: 6500 block of Edsall Road, 3/25/18, 5:59 a.m. An Uber driver called police and reported that he was being followed by a man who was having an argument with his fare. The man struck the Uber driver’s car with his. When the police arrived, the car sped off causing a pursuit. During the pursuit, the man jumped out of his car before putting it in park and fled on foot. Officers arrived on scene and located the man in a drainage pipe with the assistance of Fairfax 1 and K9. 29-year-old Marco Antonio Pardo of Annandale was charged with hit and run, driving while intoxicated, speed to elude, and driving on a revoked license.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
ASSAULT/ DESTRUCTION: Little River Turnpike & Wadsworth Court, 3/24/18, 9:12 p.m. An officer was on a traffic stop when he heard something hitting his car. The officer saw a man across the street throw an object. As backup units arrived, the man ran away. Fairfax 1 responded and assisted in locating the man hiding between townhomes. 24-year-old Ronal Visaniel Mendez Gonzalez of Annandale was arrested and charged with assault on law enforcement, throwing a missile into an occupied vehicle, destruction of property, and obstruction of justice.
