MEDIA AVAILABILITY: FCPD Conducting Active Shooter Training in Empty Office Building in Fairfax
We are all, sadly, too aware of the alarming growing trend of active shooter incidents nationwide. Our officers and commanders are currently going through training to prepare for active shooter incidents. We invite you to attend one of our sessions for a first-hand look at what the men and women of the FCPD are learning and practicing. Lieutenant Brian Ruck, who is one of the training organizers, will be available to brief reporters and photographers on the exercise and to answer questions. Additionally, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department is training alongside our officers, since best practices dictate the best outcome to such situations involve first responders working in tandem.
WHEN: Tomorrow (Tuesday, April 17) at 10:30 a.m. to approximately 12 p.m.
WHERE: 4350 Fair Lakes Court, Fairfax. Ample parking available.
