MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 3400 block of Van Dyke St, 6/14/18, 2:00 pm. A woman was walking home with her two children when she was approached by a man who requested bus fare. After telling the suspect she did not have money, the man grabbed the woman’s purse and pulled it off her shoulder causing her to fall. The woman fell into her stroller and knocked it over, injuring one of her children. The suspect ran away with the purse. The man is described as white, in his 30’s-40’s, average build, approximately 6’ tall. None of the victims needed medical assistance.
