FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

Robbery: 6969 Hechinger Drive (Aroma Café), 8/13/18, 9:03 p.m. An employee of Aroma Café reported two men came into the store, grabbed both employees, and tried to take money from them and the register. They were unsuccessful and left the store. Officers located Jimmy Sawaya, 24, of Woodbridge, and Jose Ayala Osorio, 25, of Springfield, nearby. Investigation determined Sawaya and Ayala Osorio tried to rob the victim and they were arrested. Ayala Osorio was charged with attempted robbery and abduction. Sawaya was charged with attempted robbery, abduction, and an active warrant was served.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

Burglary of an occupied dwelling and stolen vehicle: 7700 block of Havenbrook Way, between 8/12/18 at 10:00 p.m. and 8/13/18 at 10:00 a.m. A resident discovered both of their cars were missing from the parking spaces. An investigation revealed two unknown subjects got into one of the cars, took the garage door opener, and entered the home through the garage door. Once inside the home, the keys for both cars were taken and subsequently used to steal the cars.
