UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DESTRUCTION: 3800 block of Segundo Place, between 8/28/18 and 9/7/18 at 6:00 p.m. The homeowner was notified by his realtor that his home was vandalized. The home was found to have graffiti and other damage throughout the residence.
RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 7000 block of Groveton Gardens Road, 9/8/18, 10:48 a.m. Officers responded for a report of a man shooting a handgun inside of an apartment. Charles Harris, 53, of Alexandria, was safely arrested without incident. Harris said he was having an adverse reaction to an illegal substance, causing him to hallucinate and fire the handgun. Officers found he was a convicted felon and therefore barred from possessing a weapon. All the rounds fired were recovered inside the apartment, no one was injured. Harris was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and reckless discharge.

WARRANT SERVICE /ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: 7600 block of Savannah Street, 9/8/18, 5:29 p.m. Officers responded for a report of a subject inside a home with two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Officers confirmed the identity of Andrew Hoepfl, 27, of Falls Church, and attempted to arrest him. Hoepfl ignored the officer’s commands and resisted by actively fighting with them. Hoepfl was eventually arrested inside the home and charged with two outstanding warrants of fail to appear in court and probation violation, along with new charges of obstruction of justice, providing false identity to law enforcement, and assault on law enforcement. No one was injured.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 4100 block of Woodland Road, 9/8/18, 6:54 p.m. Officer responded for a report of a robbery. The victim and witness advised a Hispanic male only known as “Julio” punched the victim in the face demanding his wallet and iPhone. The wallet was never taken and the victim’s phone was found nearby. The suspect was last seen running south on Woodland Road and is described as approximately 23 years old, 5’6” tall, weighing 120lbs. He was wearing a red shirt and was clean shaven.
BRANDISHING: 6100 block of Leesburg Pike. 9/7/18, 5:19 p.m. Officers responded for a report of a larceny and a brandishing. They were met by the juvenile victim who arranged to meet two subjects on Snapchat to show them two designer belts he was selling. The juvenile suspects tried on the belts and fled the area on their bicycles without paying the victim for the belts. The victim chased the suspects who responded by pointing a black handgun at him. Both suspects were found and charges are pending.

BURGLARY: 6000 block of Stoddard Court, 9/9/18, 6:00 a.m. Officers responded for a report of a burglary. The victims left their apartment at 2:00 a.m. and returned at 6:00 a.m. to find their door locked from inside. Access was gained into the apartment via an unlocked window and several items were rummaged through and stolen.
