SULLY DISTRICT STATION

SHOOTING: 14000 block of Maidstone Court, 10/4/18, at 4:21 p.m. Officers responded to the area for a report of two people who had been shot. A preliminary investigation revealed several teens who knew each other had a confrontation. During the confrontation, someone pulled out a gun and fired several rounds. Everyone involved ran away. Responding officers found two victims who had been shot and provided aid until rescue arrived. Officers found several parties believed to be involved and detained them for questioning. The victims were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. We do not believe there to be a threat to public safety. Charges pending further investigation.

BURGLARY: 4200 block of Brookefield Corporate Drive, 10/03/18, at 12:52 a.m. We responded for an alarm at a business and found the front door had been shattered.  Surveillance video showed a man throwing a rock at the glass to break it.  Once inside the business, he attempted to locate cash, but the register was empty. He left on foot.

BURGLARY: 14000 block of Sullyfield Circle, 10/03/18, at 12:56 a.m. Related to the first burglary above, the same man used a rock to break the front glass door of another business. He made entry and rifled through a drawer, but did not take anything. He left on foot.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

TRESPASSING / UNLAWFUL ENTRY / DESTRUCTION: 3800 block of El Cerrito Place, 10/03/18, at 6:38 p.m. A neighbor called stating that she saw 4 people attempting to kick in the door of a vacant condominium. It appeared the suspects entered the condominium however nothing was taken. This condominium has recently been broken into and appeared to have been squatted in.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BIAS INCIDENT: Arlington Boulevard and Cedar Lane, 10/02/18, at 9:53 p.m. The victim was driving on Arlington Boulevard when he noticed a car behind him driving erratically. The car pulled up next to him and a man yelled out a racial slur to the victim. The two cars kept driving and at the next stop light the man simulated a gun with his hand and pointed it at the victim.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY / STOLEN AUTO: 3100 block of Burgundy Road, 10/03/18, at 2:05 p.m. The homeowner was home watching TV when he heard his side door open. Expecting his wife, he greeted her but didn’t receive a response. The homeowner then heard the side door slam shut so he went to check the door.  As he was checking on the noise he witnessed his car being driven away by an unknown man.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 7500 block of Axton Street, on 10/03/18 at 10:41 a.m. The victim heard a noise by her back door.  She turned around and saw a man trying to open the sliding door.  When he saw her, he left and went around the side of her house where she confronted him.  He then left on foot toward another residence. It was later determined he had entered the shed of another residence off Axton Street. Officers arrested 18-year-old Christian Calix, of Alexandria. Calix was charged with unlawful entry, attempted unlawful entry and possession of marijuana.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

TRESPASSING / DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 5230 Port Royal Road (Rite Aid) 10/03/18, at 7:20 p.m. Police responded for a man screaming in the back offices of the Rite Aid pharmacy. When police arrived, 50-year-old Jad Dumbrell, of Springfield, was locked in a bathroom that was for employees only. Dumbrell was uncooperative with the officers and was taken to the detention center for trespassing and disorderly conduct.
