ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: Lee Highway and Fairhill Road, 10/18/18, 2:47 a.m. An officer pulled a vehicle over for running a red light. During the traffic stop, the officer determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested Joshua Ginchereau, 37, of Woodbridge. During the arrest, Ginchereau resisted and kicked 3 officers. Ginchereau was taken to the detention center and charged with driving while intoxicated and three counts of assault on a police officer.

PURSUIT: Little River Turnpike and Roberts Avenue, 10/18/2018, 11:25 p.m. An officer made a traffic stop for a moving violation when the car drove off. After a short vehicle pursuit, the driver eventually stopped the car. Kassahun Alemu, 26, of Alexandria, was charged with eluding police and driving without headlights.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT / DISORDERLY CONDUCT / TRESPASSING: 6500 block of Frontier Drive, 10/18/18, 11:34 a.m. Officers responded to the Frontier Village shopping center for a suspicious person who was asking people for money. As officers checked the area, they found 37-year-old Rita Nkrumah Adu yelling and screaming in a nearby restaurant. Nkrumah Adu refused to listen to the officer’s directions to leave the restaurant. As officer’s told Nkrumah Adu that she was under arrest for disorderly conduct and trespassing, she resisted being handcuffed. Nkrumah Adu was charged with assault on law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and trespassing.
DISTRIBUTION OF NARCOTICS: 6500 Springfield Mall, 10/18/18, 9:30 p.m. Officers were patrolling the parking lot when they smelled an odor of marijuana coming from a car. Officers stopped the car and searched it. Marijuana and liquid THC was found inside. Adam Clay, 45, of Alabama, was charged with possession of marijuana and released on a summons. Christopher Howard, 45, of Burke, and Jimmie Stubbs, 43, of Washington D.C., were charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
