Detectives Investigating Man Shot in Restaurant Parking Lot
Mason District-Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are continuing their investigation into a shooting last night in the 6200 block of Little River Turnpike, in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The shooting occurred just after 9:30 in the parking lot in front of Viva Tequila restaurant. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the leg. They applied two tourniquets and the man was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. An initial investigation shows the shooting victim and friends had been thrown out of Viva Tequila. The situation escalated in the parking lot and a security guard shot the man. Initially the security guard left the scene, but returned shortly after. The condition of the man shot in the leg is now not life threatening.
Once the investigation is complete, detectives will present their findings to the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney to determine if charges will be placed.
