BURGLARY: 6700 block of Oak Drive, between 9:00pm on 11/30/2018 and 9:00am on 12/01/2018, The victim returned home and found that someone had entered her home through a basement window. Several boxes containing various household items were taken.
BURGLARY: 6400 block of Princeton Drive, between 8:00 a.m. on 11/30/2018 and 6:15 p.m. on 12/02/18. The victim returned home to find that someone had entered the home through a rear door. Jewelry was stolen.

BURGLARY: 6268 Old Dominion Drive (Chesterbrook Excel Gas Station), 11/30/18, 1:50a.m. Employees of the gas station arrived at work to find the shop had been broken into through a garage bay window. Video surveillance showed that a male of unknown race wearing jeans, a puffy winter jacket, and a mask, broke into the store and stole cigarettes.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: 3400 block of Lake Street, 12/01/18, 8:48 p.m. Officers responded for the report of a Hispanic man knocking on doors holding a knife. The officers located Miguel Barrera Gonzalez, 43, of Falls Church, in an apartment building. Gonzalez refused officers’ commands to drop the knife. Officers used an Electronic Control Weapon (ECW) to take Gonzalez into custody. Gonzalez kicked an officer as he was being handcuffed. He was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, and drunk in public.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 3000 block of Patrick Henry Drive, 11/30/18, 9:25p.m. The victim was walking when he was hit by a car. The driver stopped and was speaking with the victim. Another man and a woman approached and began to punch the victim and attempted to take his phone. The man and woman were unsuccessful and ran away. They were described by witnesses as Hispanic and in their twenties. The man was approximately 5’05” and 150lbs wearing a black jacket and the female was only described as being approximately 5’03” and 120 lbs. The victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

ROBBERY: South Van Dorn Street at Franconia Road, 11/30/18, 6:45p.m. The victim was waiting at the bus stop. Four teenagers approached him from behind, placed an object to his head, and told him to give them his belongings. The victim complied and relinquished several personal items. The teens ran away in an unknown direction. The teens were described as black males, ranging from 5’07” – 6’00” tall and wearing black pants and black hoodies.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 6200 block of Sydney Road, 11/30/18, 4:22p.m. The victim was at home and walked into his garage to find a juvenile male inside. The teenager quickly exited a window and ran away. Based on his description, the suspect was found by officers nearby and stopped. Petitions will be obtained for unlawful entry.
BURGLARY: 6700 block of Browns Pond Lane, 11/29/18, between 6:05p.m. and 7:45p.m. The victims went out for a short period of time and returned to find their home had been broken into and money and jewelry had been taken from the home. Entry was made through a rear door.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: 4410 Shirley Gate Road (Boys Probation House), 11/29/18, 9:03p.m. Officers were called to the Boys Probation House by staff for a juvenile who was destroying the walls in the residence. Staff obtained petitions for the destruction and officers were attempting to serve them when the suspect sprinted out of the emergency door. He was located a short distance away by another officer and taken into custody. While trying to secure the suspect in a police cruiser, he became disorderly and kicked one of the officers in the face. Petitions were served for assault on law enforcement, obstruction of justice, and destruction of property.
