MASON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 5900 block of Brill Court, 12/13/18, between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Officers were dispatched to a residential alarm and found the home had been broken into. The house was ransacked but it is unknown if anything was stolen.

ROBBERY: 4800 block of Manitoba Drive, 12/13/2018, 11:15 p.m. A teenage girl approached a man and asked for money. The man opened his wallet and gave her cash. A short time later, the girl, along with a teenage boy, approached the victim again, displayed a firearm, and demanded cash. No one was injured. The first suspect was described as a juvenile Hispanic female, about 5 feet tall and 140 pounds. The second suspect was described as a juvenile black male, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and 125 pounds. Officers are following up on leads.

VEHICLE TAMPERING: 4900 block of Fran Place, 12/13/2018, 1:44 a.m. A resident reported a man tried to open car doors in a parking lot. When officers confronted the suspect, he ran away and dropped stolen items. Ruddy Machado, 26, of Alexandria, was caught and charged with grand larceny

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT: 8300 block of Uxbridge Court, 12/13/18, 5:10 p.m.  A woman reported 8-10 individuals came to her home to fight her 15-year-old daughter. The suspects assaulted her daughter, forced their way into her home, assaulted other family members, destroyed property in the residence, and stole a pair of shoes. Some of the suspects are believed to be classmates of the victim.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT: Officers from the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Patrol Unit (NPU) and Traffic Safety Services Unit conducted business compliance checks at twenty-seven businesses in the Mount Vernon District. Twenty-two businesses were found to be in-compliance and declined the sale of alcohol to our cadets. Employees at five different businesses were cited for completing a sale.
