Detectives Asking for Public’s Help in Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect

Franconia District Station – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are investigating a bank robbery at the BB&T Bank, located at 5203 Franconia Road in the Rose Hill area. Just before 10 this morning, a man entered the bank, implied he had a gun, and demanded money. He was given cash before leaving the bank on foot. No one was injured. Our officers arrived on scene within minutes of the call and thoroughly searched the area. The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, wearing an orange construction hat, light colored face mask, and grey clothing.
