HIT AND RUN CRASH: Centreville Road/New Braddock Road, 12/29/18, 6:30 p.m. A driver was stopped at a red light at the intersection when they were rear-ended by another driver. The suspect drove away and was followed by the victim. The suspect hit another car, parked nearby, and walked away. The suspect ran from officers but was quickly caught. Dublas Lopes, 31, of Centreville, was charged with DWI and felony hit and run.

NARCOTICS: 5000 block of Caryn Court, 12/28/18, 7:23 p.m. Officers spotted several men acting suspicious while sitting in a car in an apartment complex. While speaking to them, officers saw marijuana and the men were detained for questioning. Cocaine and marijuana was found. Justin McDowell, 28, of Annandale, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Leonardo Valenzuela Goncalves, 27, of Alexandria, was charged with possession of cocaine and Carlos Deras Lopez, 28, of Alexandria, was cited for possession of marijuana.

FORGERY/UTTERING/BURGLARY: 7354B Little River Turnpike (Duke Cigar and Tobacco), 12/30/18, 6:30 p.m. A man tried to cash a check that had been recently stolen from the business. The clerk called police, who arrested Edy Ruiz Antunez, 22, no fixed address. Ruiz Antunez was charged with forgery and uttering a check. The clerk also reported a recent burglary where property was stolen from the business. Detectives are investigating the burglary.

ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: 1850 Town Center Parkway (Reston Hospital), 12/28/2018, 2:44 a.m. Officers were investigating a crash that involved a woman who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol. During the interview, the woman became irate and assaulted one of the officers. Elizabeth Wendt, 27, of Ashburn was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and driving while intoxicated. No picture available.
BURGLARY/ DESTRUCTION: 10510 Leesburg Pike (Tobacco Hut), 12/28/2018, 3:55 a.m. Officers responded to an alarm at a local business. When they arrived, they noticed damage to the outside of the building. Nothing appears to be taken at this time.
ROBBERY: 2500 block of John Eppes Road, 12/28/2018, 3:00 a.m. A man was walking home from a local restaurant when four teenage boys came up to him and asked him for a cigarette. One of the boys then kicked the man in the leg causing him to fall to the ground. The teenagers got away with the victim’s wallet. The victim was taken to a local hospital. One of the boys, 17 years old, was found and a petition was obtained for robbery.
RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 2200 block of Castle Rock Square, 12/30/2018, 9:40 p.m. Residents reported to officers hearing multiple gun shots. Officers searched the area and found shell casings on the ground. Officers are still investigating at this time.
DWI CRASH: 11000 block of Glade Drive, 12/29/18, 5:20 a.m. A man was driving his car on Glade Drive when he drove off the road and struck several trees. The driver was trapped and eventually removed by the fire department. Luke Gullekson, 35, of Herndon, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was given a summons for driving while intoxicated.

BURGLARY: 9350 Crosspointe Drive (Silverbrook Elementary School), 12/28/2018, 2:13 a.m. A Fairfax County Public Schools security officer discovered that someone broke into a trailer and stole fire extinguishers.
