BURGLARY: 5946 Richmond Highway (Best Smokes Tobacco Outlet), 1/28/19, 4:00 a.m. The store manager discovered front glass broken and several cigarette cartons on the floor. Merchandise was taken from the business.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 2900 block of Monticello Drive, 01/29/19, 1:42 a.m. A ride sharing driver picked up two men from Tysons Corner Center and took them to Monticello Drive. Once they arrived, one of the men grabbed the victim’s jacket and demanded money. The victim told the suspect he did not have any money. The suspect broke a windshield wiper off the car and hit the victim with it, causing minor injury. Officers arrested William Paneque, 30, of Falls Church, as he tried to leave the scene. Paneque was charged with attempted robbery, destruction of property and drunk in public.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 5860 Crossroads Center (Ulta Beauty), 01/28/19, 12:57 p.m. An employee reported that a suspect was taking perfume and putting it in a bag while two accomplices were distracting employees. Employees stopped the suspects as they tried to leave the store without paying. One of the suspects pointed a taser at the employees and all three ran out of the store. Officers found the suspects in their car nearby and took them into custody. The stolen items as well as the taser were found inside the car. Javon Staten, 28, of Maryland, was charged with robbery, possession of a stun weapon by a felon, possession of burglarious tools and a local outstanding warrant for grand larceny was served. Laquisha Rogers, 30, of Maryland and Shawnitia Bagley, 27, of Maryland, were charged with grand larceny and possession of burglarious tools.
