Detectives Asking for Witnesses to Serious Pedestrian Crash

West Springfield Police District – Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed a crash involving a pedestrian Sunday night.  A 19-year-old Springfield man was hit in the 8800 block of Hooes Road around 11:25 p.m. The man was hit by a 2013 Nissan Altima while walking in the crosswalk of the southbound lanes. The driver stopped and provided aid until rescue personnel arrived. The man was taken to an area hospital where his injuries were deemed to be not life threatening. Speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
