Detectives Investigating after Three People Injured in Shooting

Franconia Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are investigating after multiple people were injured yesterday afternoon in a shooting. Officers initially responded to the 6400 block of Telegraph Road around 4 p.m. and found an adult man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening. Minutes later, officers responded to the 2700 block of James Drive and found two additional adult men with gunshot wounds. Both men were also treated for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Detectives preliminarily believe that the occupants of a dark colored Mitsubishi sedan and a dark colored Toyota sedan exchanged gunfire outside of the Midieast music studio located at 6404 Telegraph Road in the Rose Hill section of the county. The Toyota then traveled approximately two miles to James Drive in the Huntington section of the county where police were summoned. The Toyota and its occupants remained on-scene. The Mitsubishi was located unoccupied overnight. Our Crime Scene detectives are processing both vehicles.

No arrests have been made but detectives are continuing to conduct interviews and examine all available evidence. They do not believe this was a random act of violence. The shooting appears to be gang-related, and detectives are looking into whether it is connected to a shooting in the Gum Springs area Monday night.
