ROBBERY: 7900 block of Richmond Highway, 9/23/19, 2:15 p.m. The victim was approached by a masked man with a gun who demanded his backpack. The suspect took the victim’s backpack and fled the area in a black Ford Fusion. Officers found the car and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect exited the car and tried to run away but was apprehended by officers. Jamontate Brown, 29, of Alexandria, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, receiving a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon.

BURGLARY: 1501 Becontree Lane (Forest Edge Elementary School), between 9/20/19 and 9/23/19. Someone broke into a school trailer and damaged property.
ROBBERY: 2100 block of Centreville Road, 9/23/19, 3:17 p.m. A man approached the victim and asked him for money. The man then hit the victim over the head with a cane and ran away. The suspect was described as a black man in his 50s, 6 feet tall, bald and wearing a white shirt.
