DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 5600 block of Lonesome Dove Court, 10/12/19, 10 p.m. Someone spray painted a swastika on the garage door of the home.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 9600 block of Ferry Harbour Court, 10/12/19, 12:26 a.m. A man entered a home and left without taking anything. He was described as a white man in his 40s, heavy set, 5’08”, wearing suit pants and a shirt.
DISCHARGE OF FIREARM IN A RESIDENCE/RESISTING ARREST: 8700 block of Lukens Lane, 10/13/19, 2:15 p.m. Neighbors called police after hearing numerous gunshots coming from a nearby home. Officers found a man who was shooting at a tree from inside of his house. Officers went to arrest him and he briefly resisted. Jose Velasquez Reyes, 41, of Alexandria, was charged with discharging a firearm within a residence, reckless handling of a firearm and resisting arrest.

TRAFFIC PURSUIT: Richmond Highway/Janna Lee Avenue, 10/13/19, 3:18 a.m. Officers saw an Oldsmobile with defective equipment and attempted a traffic stop. The driver disregarded the officer’s signal and sped away. The car came to a sudden stop and the driver ran. Officers searched the area but could not find him and a tow truck responded to remove the car. As the tow truck began to hook the car up, the driver returned and jumped into his car trying to drive away. Officers quickly arrested Walter McArthur, 43, of Alexandria, before he could flee again. He was charged with unauthorized use of a car, disregard police command to stop, possession of a schedule I/II drug and prevent law enforcement officer from making an arrest.

EXPOSURE: 7600 block of Richmond Highway, 10/13/19, 2:55 p.m. A man exposed himself to a juvenile and ran away. The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 40s, with short black hair. Detectives believe it is related to the exposure that occurred on Oct. 14.
EXPOSURE: 8700 block of Richmond Highway, 10/14/19, 11:55 a.m. A man exposed himself to two juveniles and ran away. The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 40s, with short black hair. Detectives believe it is related to the exposure that occurred on Oct. 13.
BURGLARY: 5800 block of Berkshire Court, 10/14/19, 4:40 p.m. Someone broke into a home during the daytime and stole personal property.

BURGLARY: 8300 block of Anderson Drive, 10/14/19, 11:41 p.m. Someone saw a man break into a building and notified police. Officers found Anthony Daens, 21, of Annandale, inside the fenced area by a pool. He was using a police scanner app to monitor police’s response. Officers searched the building and found Gelsy Ely Serrano Ortega, 22, of Falls Church, in the building. Anthony Daens was charged with burglary and use of a police radio during commission of a crime. Serrano Ortega was charged with trespassing and drunk in public.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
RECKLESS DRIVING, HIT AND RUN, PURSUIT: Commons Drive/Rectory Lane, 10/12/19, 9:15 p.m. An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a man driving a black 2008 Volkswagen that was speeding in a neighborhood. The driver failed to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The man then ran on foot and his car rolled back into the officer’s cruiser causing damage. Daniel Nunez Mendoza, 21, of Annandale, was arrested and charged with disregarding police command to stop, reckless driving, hit and run, improper registration and driving on a suspended license.

ROBBERY: 7900 block of Giles Street, 10/14/19, 12:29 p.m. A juvenile passenger of a ridesharing service offered to sell the driver a phone. The driver agreed and pulled out his wallet. The juvenile grabbed the wallet from the victim’s hand and ran. Officers found the juvenile nearby and arrested him for robbery.
BURGLARY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 8500 block of Burling Wood Drive, 10/14/19, 1:51 p.m. Someone broke into the community gym over the weekend and damaged property. Nothing was taken.
