Bakery Manager Charged with Inappropriately Touching an Adult with Developmental Disabilities

Sully District Station – 73-year-old Alberto Figueiredo, of Fairfax, is facing a felony charge of object sexual penetration against a developmentally disabled adult.  Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau’s Sex Crimes Squad began their investigation last week when the victim disclosed the assault to her parents. After a thorough investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Figueiredo after consulting with the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney.  He was arrested this morning and taken to the Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.

The victim was an employee at the Wildflour bakery where Figueiredo is also employed as the general manager. The bakery routinely hires individuals with developmental disabilities and Figueiredo has been employed there for over a decade.

Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that the victim is receiving appropriate resources and assistance.
