STOLEN AUTO: 14000 block of Lee Road, 5/1/20, 3:37 p.m. Officers stopped a 2017 Volkswagen Touareg that was reported stolen. The driver, Jorge Alberto Contreras-Menendez, 22, of Chantilly, was charged with grand larceny.

ROBBERY/CARJACKING: 6600 block of Richmond Highway, 5/3/20, 6:05 p.m. A man was in his 2019 Toyota Camry in a parking lot when another man approached him, implied he had a gun and got into the car. The victim was able to safely get out of the car before the man drove off. The suspect was described as a black man.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 6235 Richmond Highway (San Miguel General Store), 5/2/20, 2:30 a.m. Someone broke into the business and stole merchandise.

STOLEN AUTO: Interstate 495/Arlington Boulevard, 5/3/20, 8:12 p.m. Officers stopped a man driving a 2019 GMC Savanna for reckless driving and learned the van was reported stolen. The driver, David Winsel, 40, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with unauthorized use, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.

HOME INVASION ROBBERY: 4500 block of Backlick Road, 5/1/20, 6:45 a.m. A man entered a home and was confronted by the homeowner. The man assaulted the homeowner, stole personal property, and left. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man wearing dark clothing.
STOLEN AUTO: 9400 block of Richmond Highway, 5/2/20, 12:39 p.m. A man reported his 2017 Chevrolet Cruze was stolen overnight. The owner was able to locate the car with equipped GPS and contacted police. Officers encountered several juveniles around the car. Charges are pending.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 7208 Old Keene Mill Road (Party Depot), 5/2/20, 6:33 a.m. Someone broke into the business but nothing appeared to have been stolen.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY/AUTO THEFT: 6536 Backlick Road (Springfield Motors), 5/2/20, 8:58 a.m. Someone broke into the business overnight and stole a 2007 BMW X3.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 6681 Backlick Road (Sonia Jewelers), 5/2/20, 2 a.m. Someone broke into the business but nothing appeared to have been stolen.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 7202 Old Keene Mill Road (Long & Foster), 5/2/20, 7:52 a.m. Someone broke into the business but nothing appeared to have been stolen.
