COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 8501 Richmond Highway (Ojos Restaurant), 8/23/20, 3:58 a.m. A man entered the business overnight and took cash and property. Employees recognized the man and called police after he returned to the business later in the day. Fernando Castellano-Melendez, 19, was arrested and charged with burglary.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES: 8700 block of Richmond Highway, 8/23/20, 7:15 a.m. Several businesses to include Chevron, El Paso and Go Cell were broken into overnight. Property and cash were taken from Chevron and El Paso. Nothing was reported missing from Go Cell.
ROBBERY: 2700 block of Fort Drive, 8/25/20, 12:44 a.m. A man reported being in a nearby park with an acquaintance when he was approached by a man. The suspect displayed a knife, demanded money and assaulted the victim. The victim was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.
COMMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 8075 Leesburg Pike (Liljenquist and Beckstead Jewelry), 8/22/20, 5:25 p.m. A man entered the business, approached an associate and asked to try on jewelry. The man attempted to leave with the jewelry and was confronted by an employee. A second suspect intervened and both suspects assaulted the employee and ran away with the merchandise.
ROBBERY: 7400 block of Little River Turnpike, 8/28/20, 1:40 a.m. The victim was riding his bicycle when he was approached by two men who assaulted him. The men took personal property and ran away. No significant injuries were reported.
MISSLE INTO AN OCCUPIED DWELLING: 2200 block of Saunders Drive, 8/22/20, 6:55 p.m. A homeowner heard a loud bang and found the glass of his front door shattered. Investigation revealed a metal fragment lodged between two panes of glass.
UNLAWFUL DISCHARGE: 12000 block of Laurel Glade Court, 8/24/20, 10:36 p.m. Officers responded to a report of possible gun shots. Investigation revealed that two men were in the area when one of the men fired a gun several times. No damage or injuries were reported.
ROBBERY: 7200 Bona Vista Court, 8/26/20, 4:09 a.m. A man reported he arrived home when he was approached by a man in the driveway who assaulted him, took cash and ran away. No significant injuries were reported.
