ROBBERY: Lee Jackson Memorial Highway at Stringfellow Road, 12/06/20, 2:11 p.m. Two motorists were in a dispute while they were driving. As the motorists stopped on the road one man spat on the other’s car. The same man got out of his car, assaulted the other motorist and took personal property before driving away. No injuries were reported.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 14300 block of Climbing Rose Way, 12/07/20, 4:08 p.m. Two men walking on a trail were approached by an unknown man who displayed a knife and demanded cash. The two men ran away from the area without giving any cash.
BURGLARY: 4800 block of Fox Chapel Road, 12/10/20, 9:55 p.m.Officers were checking on a report of suspicious activity and saw two men run from an unoccupied home. The men were located nearby and taken into custody. One of the men assaulted an officer after his arrest. Officers charged Tommy Bell, 40, of Maryland and Deon Hammond, 53, of Washington, D.C., with burglary. Additionally, Bell was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer.
STABBING: 2700 block of Woodwalk Court, 12/06/20, 8:41 p.m. A man was stabbed in the upper body during a confrontation with another man inside an apartment. The suspect left the area. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were life threatening.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING: 2800 Beacon Hill Road (7-Eleven), 12/04/20, 7:25 p.m. A store clerk attempted to stop a man from stealing merchandise. A woman entered the store and pepper sprayed the clerk, as well as a witness, which allowed the man and woman to walk away from the store. Officers located the two nearby and charged Olympia Dade, 38, of Alexandria with malicious injury by caustic substance and Christopher Holloway, 36, of Manassas with false identification to avoid arrest and drunk in public. He was also served with warrants from another jurisdiction.
BANK ROBBERY: 6201 Richmond Highway (CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union), 12/9/20, 3:40 p.m. A man entered the bank, jumped over the counter and took cash. No injuries were reported.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY/SHOOTING/ANIMAL CRUELTY: 8200 block of McClelland Place, 12/9/20, 4:32 p.m. The victim saw three men standing outside his home, one of the men was trying to kick open his door. The victim opened the door and the man shot at him. The victim’s dog was struck and succumbed to injuries. No other injuries were reported. The men left the area in a car. Preliminarily it appears the men were involved in a dispute and this is not a random act of violence.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 2917 Arlington Drive (Dollar and More Superstore), 12/10/20, 7:59 p.m. A man entered the store, displayed a knife and demanded money. He walked away from the store after taking cash. No injuries were reported.
ROBBERY: 1700 block of Westwind Way, 12/04/20, 6:43 p.m. A delivery driver was assaulted by two men who took cash and ran away. The driver was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.
ROBBERY: 3400 block of South Jefferson Street, 12/05/20, 4:30 p.m. The victim reported he arranged for a ride with two men. Once in the car the two men displayed a handgun, assaulted the victim and took his personal property before forcing the victim out of the car and driving away. No injuries were reported.
SUSPICIOUS EVENT: 1700 block of Torrey Pines Court, 12/04/20, 4:11 p.m. A witness reported hearing a gunshot outside their building. Several officers and the police helicopter thoroughly checked the area and recovered evidence of suspicious activity but did not locate any injured people.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 7700 block of Gunston Plaza, 12/05/20, 6 p.m. The victim was approached by a man who implied he had a weapon and demanded property. The victim punched the man who then ran away without getting any property. No injuries were reported.
ROBBERY: 6560 Loisdale Court (Comfort Inn), 12/06/20, 12 p.m. The victim was in an elevator when he was assaulted by a man who took cash and walked away. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
ROBBERY: 7900 block of Charles Thomson Lane, 12/07/20, 7:00 p.m. The victim was waiting in a parking lot when he was approached by a man who displayed a handgun, took his personal property and drove away.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 14000 block of Metrotech Drive, 12/05/20, 5 p.m. The victim was approached by a man who implied he had a weapon, threatened him and demanded money. The victim punched the man and then ran away. The victim suffered minor injuries.
