DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED/STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY/VEHICLE PURSUIT: South Kings Highway at The Parkway, 12/19/20, 3:14 a.m. Officers attempted to stop a 2004 BMW 525i for multiple traffic violations but the driver refused, resulting in a pursuit. A Precision Immobilization Technique was used to safely stop the vehicle and take the driver, William Turcios-Guevara, 30, of Alexandria, into custody. Officers learned the car was stolen and Turcios-Guevara was charged with driving while intoxicated third offense within ten years, eluding, refusal of tests second offense, grand larceny and driving while license revoked.
STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: 6300 block of North Kings Highway, 12/19/20, 9:40 p.m. An officer made a traffic stop on a stolen 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The driver, Nigel McDonald, 37, of Maryland, ran away but was found nearby and charged with grand larceny, eluding and possession of a schedule I/II narcotic.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road, 12/19/20, 4:30 p.m. The victim was in a parking garage when he was threatened by a man who demanded property. The victim refused and the man, Tysean Waller, 21, of Washington, D.C., ran into a nearby shopping center where the Holiday Anti-Theft Team found him. Waller was charged with robbery.
ROBBERY: 1700 block of Tysons Boulevard, 12/21/20, 9:58 p.m. A taxi driver was sitting in his 2020 Ford Fusion when two men approached with a firearm and demanded money. The driver ran away and the two men took the car which was found abandoned by officers nearby. No injuries were reported.
UPDATE TO SHOOTING ON DEC. 13: 4100 block of Wadsworth Court, 12/13/20, 4:03 p.m. A man reported he was walking down the street when another man confronted and shot him as he ran away. He was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. After a thorough investigation, detectives charged Magdiel Sic, 20, of Annandale, with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and unlawful firearm possession by certain persons.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 4900 block of Beauregard Street, 12/20/20, 6:07 p.m. A man grabbed a woman who was walking down the street and demanded her property. She refused and screamed; the man ran away. Freddy Colindres, 26, was found by officers nearby and charged with robbery.
NARCOTICS POSSESSION/WEAPON VIOLATION/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: 1900 block of Isaac Newton Square, 12/19/20, 3:43 p.m. Officers responded for an intoxicated person yelling in the street and found Oscar Mejia, 30, of Arlington, and took him into custody. Mejia was found to be in possession of a firearm and under the influence of narcotics. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation where he kicked an officer three times in the upper body and threatened hospital staff. Mejia was charged with drunk in public, threats against law enforcement, two counts of assault on law enforcement, threats to bomb, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with schedule I/II narcotic.
GRAND LARCENY: 7611 Loisdale Road (Safford Dodge), 12/18/20, 11:30 p.m. A man drove to the dealership and stole tires from parked vehicles. Daryll Fine, 46, of Springfield, was stopped by officers as he drove away from the area and charged with grand larceny and possession of burglarious tools.
ROBBERY: 6000 block of Rock Cliff Lane, 12/19/20, 2:30 p.m. The victim was attempting to sell a pair of shoes to three men who threatened him with a firearm and demanded his property. The three men ran away with the property, no injuries were reported.
MOB ASSUALT/BRANDISHING: 6600 Springfield Mall (Target), 12/21/20, 8:54 p.m. A man and woman confronted a group of people who were throwing items in the store. One member of the group threatened the man and woman with a gun, the rest of the group assaulted them, resulting in minor injuries. Patrol and Holiday Anti-Theft Team officers found a juvenile nearby who was charged with mob assault, brandishing a firearm, underage possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 6147 Franconia Road (7-Eleven), 12/23/20, 12:18 a.m. A man entered the store and threatened the clerks with a gun. He took cash and merchandise before walking away. No injuries were reported.
